Insomnia in Darfur

Noisy wind flapping my tent
I cannot find dreamland tonight
On top of my blanket I lie
Wet with sweat I try to lie still
The bed creaks constantly irritating
Outside silence, but for the generator

Outside the moon almost full
Almost invisible because of dust
The camp so quiet
I imagine the guards huddled
Praying for another safe night
How I scorn insomnia in Darfur
