Strike Out

Currently South Africa is being crippled by a general strike which has been ongoing among government employees since last Friday. Their demand is for a raise in pay. Consequently many hospitals are understaffed and struggling to cope. In such situations the SANDF plays a role and thus far we have had to send three platoons to Port Elizabeth to assist in the last couple of days. Tomorrow I will go to visit these hospitals together with a photography/journalism student from Rhodes University so by tomorrow evening I should have some interesting photos to post.

In the photo Capt Sampson, the commander of Charlie Company, has inspection on his troops as they are also on standby.
