Bridge Laying Ops

An Oryx flies overhead a couple of hours ahead of our column night attack and bridge-laying operation. We were flown over the river by Oryx (South African Super Puma).

Hey, there's a hole in the Oryx!

Sorry, I'm a bit of a stupid mood at the moment.

Hello Werner,
I found your blog as i was researching for a short article on military observers, and i find it fascinating. As a matter of fact, I have been fascinated with peacekeeping for a while and am hoping to one day join a PK operation (as civilian staff). Who knows, we might even meet in Sudan.

Until then, thank you for the excellent blog and best of luck out there.

cheers,
mohamed.
